CardioMetabolic Risk Testing PDF Print E-mail

Understand your increased risk for cardiovascular disease and type II diabetes.  Proper management of CardioMetabolic risk factors can support your overall wellness and provide effective tools for improved lifestyle and longevity.  Risk factors may include high blood pressure and glucose, elevated triglycerides, abdominal obesity, physical inactivity, and smoking.  A combination of at least three of these risk factors increases your risk for cardiovascular disease and type II diabetes.  Take control of your health and wellness!

ZRT now offers a simple test for monitoring CardioMetabolic risk using dried blood spots.  A few drops of blood from a quick and nearly painless nick of the finger are placed on a filter paper to dry.  This can be performed easily at a health care practitioner's office or the convenience of home.  The sample is then sent to ZRT for analysis.  With ZRT's innovative blood spot test, there is no more wasted time and resources going to a lab for a painful blood draw.

CardioMetabolic Profile covers a complete list of markers for assessing risk, including:

    • High-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP, a marker of inflammation)
    • Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c)
    • Fasting Insulin
    • Fasting Triglycerides
    • Total cholesterol
    • LDL cholesterol
    • HDL cholesterol
    • VLDL cholesterol
i_new_testsOnce ZRT has received your dried blood spot sample, your results will be available in about a week.  As you continue to monitor your levels, ZRT will generate a "history" test report with your newest test results compared with previous tests.  This will enable your health care practitioner to recommend the right treatment option and then track your progress.  If you have additional questions regarding CardioMetabolic or blood spot testing, please ask your doctor, pharmacist, or other trained health care practitioner.
